Updated MSF/MFin Guide For Breaking Into FO?

Hey guys,

I am currently an undergraduate student at CC transferring to a target/semi-target this fall. I'll be coming in as a Junior, and am fearful I'll miss the IBD 2019 SA process - the school i'm transferring to started recruiting last month, while I obviously could not attend. I am starting to think of alternatives like extending graduation by a semester or entering a M.S. program to give me another shot at summering in IBD.

What are the best Masters programs for a student wrapping up undergrad with no full time work experience (just internships)? Aiming to break into M&A/ECM/ER/S&T (all are options on the table i'd be thrilled to work in)? Ideally, I'll be able to apply during my Senior year in undergrad (1 year & 6 mo. from now). Also, I know a lot are quant focused - I'm not really into that and would like a program that would be better for breaking into your traditional front office roles.

For these programs, do I need to take the GMAT? If so, what kind of scores do these schools accept on average? Any tips for studying for the GMAT while in undergrad? I have taken an assessment test for the GMAT and was estimated to score in the 650-725 range (bear in mind, I'm a sophomore with a lot of studies to go)

Some things that come to mind: UVA's McIntire M.S. in Commerce, Vanderbilt, Princeton, etc. - however, I know nothing about these programs.

PS: I know there is a similar thread, but it is from ten years ago, and i'm positive the landscape has changed.
