Using company healthcare benefits as an intern

I wanted to hop on here and ask if it is frowned upon to use company healthcare benefits while interning there. Been wanting to get Invisalign for a while and I heard companies cover a good chunk of orthodontia. Any insights would be great as I do not want to spend 5 to 6k out of pocket for invisalign

Definitely don’t want to use the healthcare benefits as an intern. I suffered a rather serious breakage / exposed-bone type injury during my internship, but I healed it myself by fashioning a makeshift cast out of leaves, sticks, etc. from Central Park. And yes, I got the return offer.

HAHA! Yeah it feels a bit scummy to use it for the two months I'm there but their intern package stated that if you work over x amount of hours, you qualify for all the benefits. Seemed a bit tempting but I guess I will wait until FT. Central park sticks and leaves have to hold down the fort for me for another year and fingers crossed I get the return as well!

You are a FT analyst no? I would def use it if I was FT as that is more "traditional." I just felt a bit scummy using the perks as an intern but the offer package they sent said if fixed-term employees (interns) work over x amount of hours, they can utilize the healthcare benefits and given IB, I am going to be well over that limit. Feeling very tempted but I'm not sure if it will look bad when are making the return offer decisions.

It's not like you submit HC requests to your MD for approval, these things should really be going straight to the benefits dept without anyone on your team knowing. If it's rejected for whatever reason they won't know either.
