VP busts a nut during my networking call
Hey all,
So I’m beginning to recruit for IB and was wondering how I should go about dealing with a certain situation. I recently sent emails out to various alumni from my school. I got a response back from someone who is currently a VP at a BB asking for my availability. We exchanged schedules and eventually agreed on a time that worked for both of us. I then sent a gcal invite and he accepted.
Fast forward to the day of my call. 15 minutes before the call, I got an email asking to change it to a video call. I let him know I wasn’t able to switch due to my laptop being repaired that day. He was very adamant about finding a way to make it a video call, but eventually said it was fine.
He called me right on the dot and I immediately picked up. He introduced himself and we started giving our backgrounds. He told me about his career path, his favorite parts of college, etc. and everything was going well until he started asking me more questions about my work experience. For reference, I had a private credit internship. Once I start talking about these elite experiences, he lets out a subtle whimper. I continued, thinking it was some weird yawn or something. But as I continue, I hear really heavy breathing combined with a very faint ‘fapping’ sound in the background. Once the breathing started to obliterate the speaker on my AirPods, I decided to pause, and there was silence for about 10 seconds and then the VP yelled “KEEP GOING I’M ALMOST THERE!”
I, horrified with what is happening, somehow continue talking about private credit, and as I wrap up my experience, I hear the thickest moan I’ve ever heard on the other line followed by a loud “plop” sound as if a fresh coat of paint just dropped on his phone.
There was about a minute of silence before he spoke and said “Do you have any more questions for me?”
And I, on the verge of tears, immediately say no and swiftly end the call. I then cry in the shower for two hours and ask for several extensions for my classes citing mental health concerns.
I was wondering if this is normal for bankers nowadays or if I just got unlucky. Any advice would be appreciated!
ECM bankers need to be studied
I challenge u to make a post that isn't c*m related lmao.
Idk if I can do that
this is fucking hilarious
Lmaoooooo how do you think of this stuff? SB+
Please give us more. Content of this quality has slowed over the past year or so. Silly_Goose, you're our only hope.
Nothing unusual with occasional nut bust, it comes with the job.
However, busting a nut to private credit might be questionable. Me personally only bust to traditional buyout, maybe it’s just my kink.
This guy puts the UP in upside
so Matthey McConaughey is now a VP at a BB??
alright alright alright
He is definitely a very strange dude just look at him
its part of the admissions process
Was the VP Louis CK?
Just wait for the superday
“Gotta pump those numbers up. Those are rookie numbers in this racket. I myself, I jerk off at least twice a day”
Are they still hiring???
I came away from this thinking how one goes about asking for mental health extensions
.
To add to this kind comment -- OP, I'm sorry this happened. I am also a female trying to network. I have found that some will reverse search you and find your LinkedIn to see what you look like or ask for a video call as well; one person tried to switch our conversations over to his personal email vs work email. I assume no negative intent until things get weird (your gut instinct).
First thing is to create boundaries and be willing to walk away when these are not respected. It will help your mental health by offering respect to yourself and trusting in your capabilities and work ethic. Second is to find people who aren't like this and people like Mr. C are an example.
He didn't disagree with anything. Don't see anything bad about his comment.
The key question is: are you an (attractive) woman? that could explain the situation to some extent lol
I’m a guy…
that's an unexpected plot twist. Anyway, I hope that one just a one time situation that won't happen to you, or anyone else, again.
