Waves in IB?

Hey all, incoming SA at a BB this summer.

I was wondering if having waves would be perceived badly by some in my group. Obviously, I would never wear a durag to the office or anything like that (brushing hair at work etc.) but I like the hairstyle.

I would appreciate any insight you all are willing to provide.

I sincerely doubt anyone would care. Might get some borderline racist/weird comments from boomers but I don’t think it would be an issue.

I had the same concern before my FT start date. I kept the waves and I'm so happy I did. No one cares what your hair looks like as long as it's presentable and the rest of your clothes are appropriate (suit, slacks, tie, etc.)

I didn’t mean like overtly racist shit. They’re not gonna call you cornpop but non-black people tend to be weird around black people with non-straightened hair. It’s not malicious in intent but can lead to some weird/mildly uncomfortable interactions.

Don’t worry about you should be fine. Very rare that someone would come up to you and comment on your waves. I was worried too when starting out. Had waves and a decent length beard. No one has ever said anything about it.
