Western/Queens post visa situation

Hello,

I've been accepted to Ivey and Smith and am wondering how these schools will compete recruiting-wise going forward with the recent visa situation. I've read on here that firms might follow Evercore in slowing hiring/pulling visas, I also know that Evercore was a large source of hiring for Canadian students. Would going to a lower-semi target school in the US be better? (Think UW Madison/Michigan LSA).

I have US citizenship so in theory I wouldn't be affected by visa changes, but firms slowing hiring from Ivey/Queens isn't good for anyone at those schools.

Thanks!

You are in a sweet spot with your US citizenship. Barely any competition from Canada moving forward.

No such thing as top Canadian student given you don’t have standardized testing. What you do have are target schools due to Alumni network but that will be useless if you can’t furnish work permit to work in the US. With a US citizenship, you can navigate these hurdles though.
