While that doesn’t make it right, I think you’ll find that these sorts of comments are VERY common across almost all industries in the world of business. I heard similar comments for over a decade, both in the US and in Europe. People say cringeworthy things all the time, particularly extremely type-A people who are very financially successful.

Given the context I think it was funnier and less inappropriate - Black Director says "You guys better be kissing my ass all day, we get tomorrow off because of me" referring to Juneteenth. This is also trading so have heard a lot of funnier things.

Also I don't think you understand that not everyone is brainwashed with woke liberalism. If you heard some of the stuff kids these days said in high school...have a couple cousins in that stage of life and they say stuff that I'm shocked to hear. Not in a hateful / malicious way but just in casual slang / language.
