What are the benefits to working for a "rainmaker" MD?

I know on WSO we refer to rainmakers a lot and I was wondering what were the benefits to actually working for one on the Analyst, Associate, and VP level? Do you get insane bonus because of deal flow or better exit ops or is there no benefits to the individual just the overall firm? Would one say if you knew the MD you would be working for was a rainmaker that would be an incentive to work at that bank?

I work for one. You do get a better bonus than most teams. Also the team has more prestige as its usually on top or near top of league tables.

What really matters is nice the MD is. I'm fortunate that as an analyst, my "rainmaker" MD takes the time to make sure I am getting a well rounded experience. Since he is presented with a lot of opportunities, he lets me work directly with him to analyze some of the more obscure / nonvanilla opportunities, and introduces me to a lot of potential clients.
