What banks offer 2 year analyst to associate programs?
Can someone shed some light on what banks offer 2 year analyst then promotion to associates? And, how do they determine whether you will stay as associate or get drop? Is this only offer to top bucket analysts? Is this only a NY thing or is it possible elsewhere?
I know for sure that BAML does in all US locations. It seemed to me that most people that wanted to stay on were able to.
I think it's still mainly 3 years of analyst before possible associate promotions
This isn't true - it's actually the majority of BBs which are 2.5 yrs / 2 yrs analyst to associate. For London, some examples below:
Barclays - 2.5 years analyst -> 3 years associate (AVP) UBS - 2.5 years analyst -> 3 years associate (AD) Morgan Stanley - 2 years analyst -> 4 years associate
Dumb question from a consultant - is IB typically up or out? Or do you have 4th year analysts sometimes
No 4th year analyst (for London at least) - 2 yrs / 2.5 yrs / 3 yrs or out
I believe 3 years in max. If it's 2.5 years to associate, then isn't that almost every firm.
