What credit card do you use? First Year Analyst

Title says it all. Had the discover it through college, but am looking to find a strong value credit card to use as I will be starting as a first year REGAL analyst soon. I'm currently considering the AMEX Gold or Chase Freedom Unlimited. Any other suggestions are welcomed. I like the Amex Gold, but considering the annual fee and points system that accompanies it (lower value proposition in inflationary environment), I am also interested in the Chase Freedom due to its 0 dollar annual fee and cash back structure.

I would recommend starting the Chase ecosystem. Many transfer partners for your points, so you can redeem for luxury travel (i.e. international business class) once you’ve accumulated enough.

Should probably start with either the Freedom Unlimited or Freedom Flex. Both are 3x points on restaurants and drug stores. CFU is 1.5x back on everything else. CFF is 5% back on quarterly rotating categories.

I would personally recommend the CFU as your first card, since the 1.5x catch-all category is easier to use than the quarterly categories which can be hit or miss.

Most of the time you will pay for food with company card so credit card less important than you think
