What do do during Freshman Summer?

You will be fine. Just keep networking and maintaining a good g.p.a. Do not stress yourself out... focus on your coursework. 

Doing a research project with a finance or economics professor is a good option.

Drink beer

Enjoy it man. This will be the last time for a very long time where you will have complete freedom and no responsibility. Because after this is your sophomore internship then your junior year internship and then you graduate and work like a dog. Drink, spend time with your family, take lake trips with your boys, watch Netflix, play video games, or just get a part time job not related to finance. Keep busy, have fun, and rest for one final time because you will do nothing but work after this lol.

Stoop lower - you don't need a BB or EB internship. Reach out to your hometown's local PWM-er's. Good way to show your interest in finance at an early stage.

My freshman summer I’m planning on spending a month backpacking through Europe you don’t need to intern at like Lazard as a Freshman. Just vibe homie.

If you’re at a non-target I would ignore everyone on this thread saying to chill and enjoy yourself and try to get something at a local boutique.
