What Does Learning On The Job Really Mean?
Hi Everyone! I'm an incoming IB analyst, and I'm curious what people mean when they say you learn everything on the job. Does that mean you learn over the shoulder of other people with them showing you shortcuts and how to do everything? Or does everyone

Some places it means you get thrown into the mix and either sink or swim.
Other places, you get put on projects and the more senior people sit with you, explain shit and help you learn.
It really means that there is no "formal" training program.
This is the stupidest post i've ever seen

It means you get to learn how to work the xerox to print books for your seniors and then learn how to decipher their unreadable markup (the latter you could do from home but your seniors never learnt the scan function on the xerox - ironic given their many years of learning in the office 5 days a week pre covid)
