What does Leveraged Capital Markets entail?
Hey guys,
Going through group placement right now and I really like markets yet I'm doing IB. As such, I'd like something more markets related. i've heard LCM get to work closely with high yield trading teams and maybe trade their own book? Wondering if this is true and what LCM look like as an analyst.
I imagine it’s like a high yield DCM role
avoid if you are looking for traditional IB experience. "the desk" as these teams are called are great at the senior level - it's an awesome gig. at the junior level the job is 95% administrative such as (i) posting LPs / other materials to the data room, pulling bond quotes on BBG for the levfin bankers, and getting CIMs/ LPs from other banks. avoid avoid avoid
probably working for the LevFin "syndicate" desk. This team sits between the sales and trading desks and the LevFin origination team. At the junior level, it is sort of like being a capital markets middle office analyst. They generally promote slowly, but at the senior level, it is pretty dope. Not much real work, just a lot of talking and recommending.
