What is MM Comp Like for Associates/VPs
Just curious as it seems some of the anecdotes on here point to MM culture and lifestyle being a lot more friendly than some of the EB/BBs.
I’m talking about banks in the general league of Raymond James / Baird / Piper / Stifel / Blair / Wedbush
Following
Baird and Blair pay much higher than the other MMs listed
Interesting. I was more curious about the average run of the mill shops like RJ or Lincoln. Any data points there?
I know that Lincoln has very competitive pay. May be slightly below Blair or Baird, but is known to pay well.
Blair pays the most out of all the banks you’ve listed here, plus they’re in Chicago so cost of living is lower. IMO Blair is a wildly underrated bank, I didn’t end up taking my offer there but they have great culture (I think there’s an cultural advantage to Midwest banking in general) and still pay well / have performed well. Plus I know for a fact there’s a Blair MD that posts with (relatively) high frequency on WSO so I’m assuming WLB at the higher levels isn’t that bad lol

Damn, lot of people have glowing reviews of Blair. Any anecdotes on the range for non-standout MMs? The company database has a wildly variable range with some inputs seeming low, but maybe that’s reality.
Blair is simply one of the few well rounded platforms in terms of the quality of deal experience, culture, opportunity, and pay.
Not disagreeing, but your last statement... posting on WSO as an MD is a good sign? Since when? Hope I have better things to do at that age.
Blair decided to can a ton of people in the middle of COVID after promising their employees they won't / claimed they had a strong balance sheet
10 posts / replies and not a single number was given. Never change, WSO.
I just wanted to say this is a great thread and I’ve heard that Baird pays well but not as well as Blair but also Blair has good culture.
Detected: Bunch of Blair analysts with no deal on their hands.
Doubtful there are many current analysts on here given deal flow.
Stifel is below market
not a ton of clear answers but at blair the base for associates is 150(stub)>150>175>200 and VPs all get 225 base. the Asc stub (6 months after you start in august) was $35K. Last year well performing 4th year associates (so after 3.5 years on the job) got $200+200. No answers really for what VPs are getting but probably safe to assume 1st year VPs are getting $425-450+
Can confirm this is in line with Stephens Dallas/Atlanta office as well

Very impressive for lcol. What industry do you cover?
Any bonus numbers for harris williams (a1/a2/a3), heard they pay well too
Don’t know bonus numbers but signing bonus is 20k so I’m sure they pay well
Assume you mean for associates? It’s $10 for analysts
