What is the impact of being a student athlete on recruiting?

Hi all, incoming sophomore at an Ivy League school who is a student athlete and no clubs. I have IB internships on my resume, so I’m just wondering if it would be better to drop the student athlete and have clubs in the fall or if the student athlete role has more impact than leadership in finance clubs. Thanks

Nah my friends who did lacrosse  at prep school than hypsm did no clubs and landed everything. So chill keep the sport and shit don’t do no clubs.

Appreciate the insight. I’m at a lower level ivy not hyp, so would u say still the same affect?

Yes it is. Ngl you are overthinking you will be fine trust me. Just network with other athletes in general who went to elite schools and also your school alum and you’re golden

Student athlete is a huge boost for recruiting. Hard to evaluate vs finance clubs, but they aren’t mutually exclusive. Would recommend just getting a check the box type club on your resume - being an athlete is far more unique than being in a finance club for what it’s worth.
