Summer Analyst Job Description The CB Summer Analyst Program is an entry-level position for college undergraduates interested in joining a fast paced, diversified and entrepreneurial environment. The Summer Analysts recruited on campus will experience a ten week program during which they will be placed into our Corporate Finance Advisory (CFA) unit and assigned to and involved with meaningful projects in at least two banking origination groups. During this period, CFA will also provide learning opportunities and exposure to a broad range of requisite skills and experiences necessary in banking. These include “hands-on” training in corporate finance analysis techniques, capital structuring, credit analysis, as well as exposure to the various capital markets and other important aspects of sophisticated corporate banking.

Potential Summer Responsibilities – A “Hands-On” Approach

  • Assist with origination, development, marketing and execution of debt and risk management transactions.
  • Develop and sensitize complex financial models.
  • Perform in-depth analyses of industries / competitive positioning.
  • Assist in creation and distribution of financing proposals to clients.
  • Preparation of internal approval papers for transactions.
  • Research and write presentations and marketing materials, memorandums and related documentation for transactions.
  • Assist in the analysis and preparation of capital structure recommendations to clients.

CRM Analyst Qualifications

Applicants should have extensive coursework in finance, economics or accounting. We seek multi-faceted, results-driven, creative individuals who can generate ideas and execute them successfully as part of a dynamic team. Initiative and ability to work well within a team environment are extremely important. As a Summer Analyst, you need to demonstrate superior problem solving and analytical capabilities accompanied by evidence of academic excellence. You should have a track record of showing leadership and teamwork aptitudes as well as display exceptional written and oral communication skills. Your interest in a career in banking and (bank name) will distinguish you from your colleagues.

I do not want to say which bank this job is for, but will say that it is a fairly large bank which most have heard of.

Sounds like relationship management to me.... it could be a rotational program, but from what you posted, the responsibilities seem more like a relationship management group

 

Thanks for the quick replies- So, beyond what is mentioned in the description. What kind of roles/tasks does someone in this role perform? Do they analyze clients and potential clients, come up with suggestions for debt/capital structure and then try to sell DCM services or cross-sell other IB/Cap. Markets services?

If this is case, do they essentially get a basic introduction to a bunch of different products/services in the Corporate Banking / IB depts?
