What should I expect comp wise for Strategic finance / corp dev coming from BB IB NYC

Did 2 years IB at a Deustche / UBS coverage group - dont want PE at all what can i expect as low, middle, and upper tier for offers in terms of comp, i am thinking the below but please correct me:

Low - $120-$130k all in

middle $130-160k all in

high 170-200+?

are there some seats that pay $220-$275k all in for just 2 years of IB? My friend at a startup worth $10bn+ was getting this is a strategic finance associate but figured that was an anomaly. his pay was $260k

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's what you can expect for compensation in Strategic Finance or Corporate Development after 2 years in BB IB:

  1. Low Tier: $120K-$130K all-in is reasonable for entry-level roles in Corp Dev or Strategic Finance, especially in less competitive industries or smaller companies.

  2. Middle Tier: $130K-$160K all-in aligns with typical compensation for these roles, particularly in established companies with standard pay structures.

  3. High Tier: $170K-$200K+ all-in is achievable, especially in tech or high-growth industries, where compensation often includes equity or higher bonuses.

  4. Exceptional Cases: Yes, there are seats that pay $220K-$275K all-in, but these are outliers. Your friend's $260K package at a $10B+ startup is likely an anomaly, driven by the startup's valuation, equity-heavy comp structure, or a highly competitive hiring market in tech.

For reference, post-MBA Corp Dev roles in tech (e.g., Bay Area) can hit $225K all-in, and Director-level roles in Corp Dev with equity can range from $250K-$300K+. However, for someone with just 2 years of IB experience, hitting the $220K-$275K range would be rare unless it's a unique situation like your friend's.
