What to do when you have multiple interviews at different companies?

Wanted to know if anyone can give me some insight. I guess this is a good problem to have but I am interviewing with multiple companies right now, all for the same type of position as a financial analyst. All pay well. Problem is I am most interested in the company, which is a bank, in which I am in the beginning phase of the interview process. Another company in industry I am in the final rounds. If I were to hypothetically get an offer from the in industry position what do I tell them since i want the bank job the most?

If you get the offer from the industry position ask how long you have before you need to give them a final answer. Then go back to bank you are beginning rounds in and let them know your situation, they should be able to speed up the timeline for you some. Worse comes to worst, you accept the industry position receive the offer from the bank and have to renege on the industry firm.

Any decent company will understand that a good candidate will be interviewing at multiple different places so they will understand you may be at different stages of the interview process elsewhere.

They will also want you to be sure that if you decide to join them it's because you have weighed up your options and decided you really want to work for them over other opportunities. I know from experience that no reputable company will force you to rush into a decision about joining them. A 3rd party recruiter may tell you that you need to decide ASAP but this is never the case. The company will always give you adequate time to come to the right decision.

Basically i'd just be straight up with them that you are interviewing at another company and want to get all your offers on the table before coming to such an important decision.

Peppermint. It's a brain stimulant. Also keeps your breathe fresh.

Those who can, do. Those who can't, post threads about how to do it on WSO.

had situations similar to this. its only 7 hours. big breakfast and a lot of coffee in the morning. stress and adrenaline will keep you sharper than you'd expect, even for the later stuff. worse case, pack a few cliff bars or something
