When are FT Interviews Expected to Happen?

I'm planning to begin networking in the coming weeks, and I'm keeping expectations very low. Just so I have a sense of timeline though, when are FT interviews expected to happen this year? SA interviews have only been getting earlier and earlier, so curious if people at banks noticed the same phenomenon with FT recruiting?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, full-time (FT) interviews generally follow a consistent timeline, though there can be some variations depending on the bank and circumstances:

  1. Networking and Informal Calls: Networking and soft calls typically occur throughout the summer. If you're not in the process with a group by the end of July, your chances of securing a lateral offer decrease significantly.

  2. First Rounds: Unofficial first-round interviews often happen at the end of July or early August. For elite boutiques (EBs), networking events and first rounds usually start in late July or early August.

  3. Superdays:

    • For groups with open spots, superdays often occur the week after internships end, typically in the second week of August. Offers are usually signed by the end of that week.
    • For groups waiting to see if interns accept return offers, superdays can extend into late August or even early September.
  4. Exceptions: Some banks, like Citi FIG, may conduct interviews as late as early October, but this is not the norm.

If you're planning to start networking soon, it's crucial to act quickly, as the process is already underway by mid-summer.
