When Do Investment Bankers Take Time Off During Christmas And New Years?
Hello all, having a trip to New York the week of the 5th. And was wondering if emailing connections the week of the 29th to schedule an in person meet up would be reasonable or seen as inconsiderate. Thanks!
bump
Do not do this
When do you recommend I reach out?
After the new year
Do not reach out until the 5th, next week is very quiet and no one wants to be hearing from prospects.
The 5th is also typically a crazy day when MDs and clients return from break, it's basically back to school, so don't expect bankers to be able to step out on Monday regardless, and it's likely a lot of the Monday emails will get ignored.
If you have people you've already spoken to and have good rapport with, you can email them the 2nd to set something up for Tuesday-Thursday. No cold emails though.
Okay thank you so much! Would it be okay to email on the 6th if I will be in town 7th-8th?
Yes
It’s going to be very busy that week for bankers, I would be surprised if you’re able to find people willing to meet
