Hi everyone, I am looking to pursue off-cycle recruiting for 2027 associate roles in MM PE, as I begin at my bank after grad in a few months.
My question is what stretch of time does most of the off-cycle occur (ex. 6-12 months from start date) and when's the earliest that off-cycle tends to happen? Thanks in advance!

Off-cycle is legitimately anything that isn't on-cycle (which is probably early fall but who knows). Off-cycle will literally stretch from probably January 2026 through start dates (so Summer 2027). For firms who don't participate or don't fill during on-cycle, there are often some clumps around January/Q1 but off-cycle is inherently random.
From HH conversations there are mostly 3 clusters. The original oncycle which is probably early summer, after winter break, and after labor day weekend. Ofc most firms come to market on their own timelines but these are the clusters observed
