When to post new job on LinkedIn after reneging?

Hi Monkeys,

After a shameful act of reneging on an offer from one bank I went with another one, where I am about to start full-time. When would you consider it safe to update my LinkedIn?

The first company does not know where I went as I haven't told them.

As long as you were respectful when reneging, it's not a big deal. IB is a high turnover industry to begin with. I would update your profile the same way as if you did not reneg (i.e. when you actually start working FT).

Chillax and pat yourself on the bat. It will all work out. I've seen multiple people reneg, it all worked out fine.

TBH, all bankers, including MDs are replaceable. No one cares if you reneg, leave, etc...

Nothing personal. Just business.

Just wait a few months. No point in risking anything until you are up to speed at the new firm.
