When to start prepping for GE on-cycle (2021)

Incoming analyst at EB. Looking to recruit for large growth shops on-cycle. Given the pandemic this year, when do people foresee the GA and Insights of the world beginning their associate recruiting cycle? Also what stuff is important to prep now? Will I need to be able to do modeling and LBO exams in my sleep or is it mostly industry and business-model based questions that matter?

All insight is appreciated thanks in advance!

It's tough to say honestly. It was definitely delayed in 2020 but with restrictions loosening up in most major metros, it'll just be a question of who kicks off the first process as others will follow instantaneously usually. To err on the side of caution, I'd be ready by late August in case they decide to go back to the norm of hitting the early-mid Sept cycles. This is for both LBO and GE roles.

Can't help you with the type of prep needed for GE as I never recruited for those roles and neither did my friends. Though quite a few analysts in my class went to big GE shops like Norwest and Summit so I can reach out if helpful.
