Where and when do bankers meet their gfs or wives?

When do most post-MBA associates get married/meet their spouses?

It seems to me that most post-MBA associates are married (please correct me if I am wrong on this). If an associate isn't married, where do they ever find the time to meet someone or go on a date for that matter? Are bachelor associates pretty much loners with no female companionship until they get to VP and have a little more breathing room?

Is business school (or at least the time period of business school, not the actual school itself) where most married bankers find their live-in gf / fiancee / wife?

I would be very interested to hear some data points. Does it make it easier or harder in banking to be married? I would think coming home at 2AM each night with a woman in your bed is nicer than being alone all the time. I would like your thoughts.

Joke comments welcome, but serious comments would be nice too.

My parents met on WS, they worked in the same company but for different divisions.

on your application you designate if you're single and then you get a special invitation in the mail to go to a highly coveted alumni/current student speed-dating event . That way you can mingle with people on your ELITE level in this special pool of successful individuals. Albeit not all the girls are dime pieces, if you keep showing up you'll find someone eventually to your liking. - from an MBA pal of mine.

I prefer not to get married but use women for their youthful looks and replace them when they reach the end of their depreciation schedule.

I couldn't see myself with a female banker, therefore I think the best thing for bankers is to find a doctor - medschool is pretty grueling and by the time they are done with residency and are practicing, you have atleast reached the associate level and/or are in PE. I think your right, it would be hard to be with someone when your coming home at 2am each night, thats why you would have to find someone equally as busy with their career.

So in your spare time, just start hanging around the med schools in new york - hit up the Cornell Med School, the Columbia Med School, and the NYU Med School. Just stand outside with your business card in hand while wearing your banks logo on your back.

Or just hit up eharmony, I hear there match making models are the shit.

@Killer_Queen--aren't you getting married? if you are and just are curious about the subject than ignore this, but if you aren't anymore and it has anything to do with the stupid discussion a few weeks ago I am genuinely sorry.

Also as an aside, I don't think I could date someone who was as concerned with her career as I am...(don't mean to sound misogynistic)

@breakinginnew

No I am just curious about the subject. No worries. A WSO post does not impact my life's major decisions. It just seems married MBAs are the minority, but there are a large percentage of married post-MBA associates. It made me wonder when the majority of those Associates are getting married.

Good to hear. I don't get it though, doesn't what you say suggest that most of the associates get married during or right after b-school? That seems to make sense to me...though I have very limited knowledge. Also maybe the composition of the b-school classes would matter, like since consultants generally go to b-school after a 2-year stint maybe bankers who go later are more likely to be married than other professionals at bschool.

I would guess you'd just make the most of your time. While you're networking for business you can also network for personal reasons. If you're an associate making upwards of 200K it shouldn't take that much time to find a girl.

Also, I'm guessing a lot of associates also hook up with former friends and flings. I regret not keeping in contact with my casual female acquaintences in college. Yeah, I stayed cool with the close friends but they weren't wife material, the bad chicks were the ones I was kinda cool with but not buddy-buddy. I should have kept contact with all of them, and played the percentages.

They marry their secretaries. Whenever they hire a new one they are really just looking for their next wife. This happened multiple times at my former employer
