Where can I find some sample Loan Documents?
So I just received an offer (lateral) from a LevFin group and I am scheduled to start in Jan. The group does mostly sponsor lending, and I wanted to get a head start, familiarize myself with loan documents, etc. Is there anywhere I can find some loan docs or some sort of a study material?
Westlaw Practical Law is the best option, but it isn’t free. You can do a free 7 day trial though.
Alternatively, you can find form loan agreements on the SEC website; a lot of the form loan agreements have form promissory notes/guaranties/DACAs/other ancillaries attached as exhibits.
Some of the form loan agreements also have a list of the full suite of loan docs - then you could search “form [name of loan doc]” in google and you’ll be able to find them one by one.
Honestly, just reading credit docs is going to be a waste of time unless you know what you're looking for, and you need someone to sit down and teach you that (which your group will). Just practice your liquidity rollforwards (spending a lot of time on the debt schedule). That'll be good practice for the group
