Will BB IBD consider hedge fund experience any relevant? I'm planning to take a gap year and join a friend's hedge fund while I apply for 2018 2-year GMiM masters intake. My plan is to break into IBD.

Yes, IB analysts respect buy-side experience.
The issue is that they are a quant fund trading purely on FX (from what I know). I think they'll probably rely statistical techniques and math modeling rather than fundamental analysis, not exactly sure if this will be relevant to IBD.
That makes the skill overlap smaller. However, it is still finance and the work is quantitative so there still are similar aspects between the trading role and IB. Focus on the similarities in your interviews. Also, IB analysts will assume you have the intelligence for the job since quant trading is no joke. Hope this helps.

Yes, but that's not the only one. I'm searching for more 2-year Master programs (preferably joint with another top school) around the world. I'm looking at US, UK, EU and Asia. Any ideas if any other schools offer a 2-year fulltime masters? (with an opportunity to do a summer internship in between, not like most 14-19 month masters in US)
