Will I be blacklisted from the firm?

I received a "pre-offer" letter for a job that I really liked and I signed the "pre-offer" form and the company sent me the background check form for me to complete afterwards. However, due to my current situation, I decided to just stay in my current position as it was more "safe" and so I informed the team that I had to withdraw my candidacy and did not go through the background check.

For context, the process for this company is: Sign Pre-offer --> Non-criminal background check --> official conditional offer letter (where you have a couple days to accept it) --> criminal background check --> successfully onboarded.

Given that I had to pull out of the "pre-offer" due to my current circumstances, do you guys think that the firm counts that as reneging and will blacklist me (or flag me) if I reapply in the future?

After seeing half a dozen of posts by this guy ( anonymous or not), I’m pretty sure he doesn’t like Citi.

No you will def not be blacklisted. Also, what's the difference between a non-criminal bc and criminal bc?

Probably not, but even if it did, you still have a current position so reneging at one firm isn’t going to be that big of a deal
