WOULD YOU RATHER:

Hypothetical question:

If a genie gave you a choice being:

1. You attend a target schools, however have no family connections

2. You attend a state school, however your father works at a BB in the IBD

Which one and why? Curious to hear your guys thoughts on this

Assuming your dad is high-up (Director+) at the BB, he could pull some strings and get you an internship. There's nearly a 100% chance of that happening. Recruiting from targets is still hard as OCR can be extremely competitive. There is no guarantee of success by attending a target.

Honestly, made it from a non-target, would rather be "self-made" and would go to a target and hopefully get in. Even if I don't I'm sure there are ton  of good opps anyway
