> Idk why any firm would take me haha I have nothing to show for my interest in finance and I don't have a crazy work ethic

Might want to think about that.. if you don't know what your strengths are then how are your interviewers supposed to?

If you grind your technical knowledge and try to get some finance club on your resume in the fall, you should be fine. I've seen non-target diversity with shit resumes and lower GPA than yours place without even networking. I would also expand what you want to do. It may be much easier to place into equity/credit research or capital markets vs IB

Don't get tunnel vision on GS/MS because tbh it's a long shot. Focus on the Barclays/Citi tier and MMs and you honestly will be completely fine as long as you interview well. Know your technicals, know your story, and get feedback and practice your behaviorals.

Good luck!

Awesome. Also, if you're eligible for SEO, DEFINITELY join it, like, today!! They literally feed you a sophomore summer internship which is crucial for junior summer recruiting. Having it on your resume will also be a big boost. Feel free to PM me if you want some support with that process.
