Just received offer from a BB for a coverage group in NY. I interned at a MM firm in NY this summer and started networking and following up with people I knew at a ton of banks very early in the summer. I got very lucky. Here is what I know about the process currently at a few firms:
Lazard FIG will be looking for 1-2 laterals. Superdays probably mid- to late- September.
GS is still recruiting some laterals for their new Cross Markets Group.
Citi will likely have 1-2 spots in a few groups but are still waiting on their summers to respond to offers.
BAML might have 1-2 spots still open.
Jefferies is still recruiting, but I have very low visibility there.
JPM overhired for their summer class... it's a dead zone so nobody get their hopes up about that.
All of this info is from junior bankers that I trust at those firms, but take it all with a grain of salt. I'm just happy it's over for me.
Would be great if people can summarize what opportunities are still available nowadays for FT after labor day weekend
