Advice: starting career at smaller PE firm

Hi WSO. I’m a sophomore in college and I recently signed to a smaller PE firm (2B AUM) as a 2025 summer intern. They have good track record and have expressed that I have a path to VP+ if I perform (i.e. not gonna be a forced MBA). Comp is street. However, I am nervous about starting my career on such a small platform. I won’t have access to a large incoming class of interns and the firm itself only has a few dozen front office employees. What advice do you have on ensuring I don’t get pigeonholed?
