Alt-career path for Life Sciences Patent Attorney??
Hi all, I'm an experienced life science patent attorney with an advanced degree in biochemistry with about 12 years of patent prosecution and patent litigation experience (including at least half with top-tier NYC firms). Recently, I have been contemplating a career path switch to go in-house at a private equity or venture capital firm focusing on pharmaceutical and biotech companies. I have no business or finance experience, but I am hoping there is a place for an experienced J.D. to evaluate patent portfolios and litigation risks for valuating companies. As anyone ever heard of a patent attorney doing this? And, if so, what tips/advice would you have? Thanks.
