AN2 Lateral Advice (Buyside -> Sellside)

All -

AN2 at a buy side credit shop here. Looking to pivot to sell side (ideally Rx, but also LevFin/DCM) but am unsure how to get started networking for a few primary reasons:

1. I work in credit (HY/LevLoan/Distressed) and the community is pretty small. Not sure if I need to worry about potentially getting doxed to, for example, a partner at my current gig, which is pretty well connected. (Thinking about this more from EB side)
2. Not sure if it makes more sense to stay in current role another 1-2y, get AS1, then try to pivot vs going into an analyst role with 2 YOE.
3. Any input on LinkedIn vs email for cold reach outs?

Finally, not sure if I should be talking to recruiters as I have had a few inbounds but nothing exactly fitting the bill of what I’m looking for.

Appreciate any advice!
