Another Undergrad Degree?

Hey all.

Im not sure if I should apply for a second undergraduate degree, with a chance of starting from the second year. I was thinking of going to an European school instead of remaining in the UK (was born in london and have been here ever since - getting bored).

Reasons:
- even if i get an internship next summer, i wont get a grad offer until the following year so what do i do for that 'spare' year?
- i cannot afford a masters in anything remotely interesting (finance/maths etc are all 20k+ excluding accommodation/food). loans are not possible either for me because of some family circumstances. scholarships are not an option for students doing a second undergrad degree and I'm not 'really' clever... just normal. haha
- buys me more time to apply for internships/roles and lets me have more of a uni experience (lacked it at LSE because of medical problems so i was always 'out' and because LSE just sucks in general lol)
- people i network with say i will be fine in the recruiting cycle but i never make it past round 2 (in the rare circumstance that i get to round 2) and this has been happening for 3 years now.
- europe is a mess and recruiting is crazy... this will help me 'buy time'

Background:
Currently at LSE - studying Stats with Finance - graduate next summer.
Will definitely get a Upper Second/2:1 (based on current marks). A first is possible (if i work my *** off).
Modules include (this year) accounting/finance/corp finance/stats project. So far I have only done maths/stats modules which are irrelevant to the IB world (kinda).
A levels - A grades so no worries there.
Experience: IBD boutique (unknown) summer internship in NYC and MM internship in London before that. Neither are hiring otherwise i would go back.
Activities: president and sports captain (part of the SU)

no i didn't do to the zoo bar on wednesday... i had a medical appointment every week at that time plus most people on my course are 'academically focused' asian students who would rather study (no offence)

Coming from LSE you probably shouldnt need to. Consider how many people here start their senior year, or post graduation, from lesser known schools and who succeed. A masters degree would probably be a better expenditure of time for you if anything.

this is what i thought also... but i have really bad luck with recruiting so idk. i was seriously considering a masters but the cost is 20k+ so its really hard because i don't come from a middle class+ family

Then dont do a masters degree. You are coming from a great school. You really dont need to do more. Conversely you dont need to go in to finance now. You could put in time in your countries military. Could probably be an officer w/ the college degree.

I think you are jumping the ship too quickly, investing in another undergrad is not a good idea, given the fact that you already have a pedigree education from a top UK College with a decent academic record. Talk to a career advisor and explore your options carefully before making a hasty decision.

Yeah I agree. I think it's only wise to invest in undergrad again if you're thinking of studying something completely different because you had a major change of heart. One of my friends studied political science for his undergrad, did a few internships with some high profile politicians, and then decided right after graduation that he didnt want to go into politics or international affairs at all. Instead he wanted to be a doctor! So.. now he's back in undergrad doing a medical course.
