Any lateral hopefuls getting any interviews?
I think I’m fucked. The only calls I get are recruiters from Shelby Jennings that always lead to nowhere. Would like to see how everyone else is doing. I think my resume is good, performance is excellent etc etc still can’t get anything :(
I was getting interviews earlier in the year from January to March. A few scattered after that. Six in total. Half from networking and half from applying on LinkedIn. 5 out of 6 interviews I got with a resume that was general. I used a new resume that highlighted each specific deal but haven’t got any hits via applying. I’d note this was during the summer so not a good indicator.
I’ve also been highlighting each deal I’ve worked on too. Nothing, it’s ass rn
I'm also fucked. Been reaching out to analysts/associates elsewhere and they all either say they overhired the '22 interns or just aren't hiring. Feels like I'm going to be waiting until next summer for an actual interview
Sorry to hear that. this market is insanely dry rn. Wishing y’all the best!
Just an observation and opinion, I’m noticing many MM (think Baird or Lincoln) are taking analysts from other brand name banks. As contrasted with the past where boutique and regional bankers could lateral or at least get more interviews.
Long and short, the firms that are hiring are being very selective. I can say from experience the endless networking and interview prepping can feel exhausting especially when there is no interviews in place. Regardless im seeing more opportunities. Best of luck to you all!
appreciate the positivity! Unfortunately I'm at a regional, but will certainly be ready to crush it when I eventually get an interview
