Asking Bchool Alum for Job Interview Help
Hi all, in a bit of a conundrum. I have a final interview coming up with a PE fund that I am keen on. One of the partners in the team whom I will be meeting is a LinkedIn connection of a fellow business school alum, who graduated from bschool a decade earlier than me. My prospective supervisor and alum previously worked together at the same company (think in the same team as well), where the alum is still based. The alum had tried to get me a job at his company and I had done well in the interviews but the role was placed on hold. Furthermore, a well-recognized professor from bschool had recommended me to the alum. All in all, I am guessing alums thinks highly of me. We're also from the same Asian country. Anyhow, with that context, I am wondering if I should let the alum know that I have a final interview coming up with this firm and if he knows the "partner" well enough? How should I phrase this? I guess what I am looking to do is maybe get a sense of whether the alum can also put in a word for me. Or should I forget it? I have done very well so far during the interview process but want to nail this Thanks in advance
