average gpa as deciding factor in IB Recruitment?

Hi all, Hope everyone and their families are continuing to stay safe during these uncertain times. I'm currently a sophomore trying to secure a junior summer internship at one of the BB/EB/MM banks. I believe that I have positioned myself well to at least have a shot at IB Recruiting (boutique IB for sophomore summer, leadership in school EC's, interview referrals from analysts). The only concern I have is my sub-par to low GPA. I had a low 3.3 GPA going into the spring, but even after doing great this semester I am still at a 3.5 GPA. Going to a non-target school (recognizable college within the northeast but only has OCR for a couple MM banks), am I automatically going to get dinged for not having a 3.7+ GPA? I obviously am going to see this process through regardless but wanted to get insight from people who have already gone through recruiting so I can adjust my expectations accordingly.
