Banking Options: WF IBD v Lazard MM v RBC Capital Markets
Hey guys, I am considering Wells Fargo Investment Banking, Lazard Middle Market and RBC Capital Markets. Was just hoping for some feedback and any opinions. Thanks.

BUMP. Any opinions on each firm and which you would want to have an internship at.
Get offer first. This isn't college, you should apply to anything and everything.
It's probably a troll given the date. All the banks have ended internship recruiting already, esp lazard.
True. Although, if you haven't applied yet to these banks, you're definitely really late, if not too late.
^Good point
Wells Fargo's application was open until Feb 4th. Do you really think recruiting is already over? It hasn't been 3 weeks since they've taken applications..
I dunno about Wells specifically, but most of the recruiting is well along its way and will be finished up soon. When we we're saying it's too late, we meant it's too late to start... way too late probably
if he is thinking of applying now, its obviously too late...i think he might be asking that he has offers and wants to pick one, though its hard to conclude either
ASSUMING this isn't a troll post, I would say it's a tossup between Wells and Lazard, followed by RBC. It comes down to whether you want to work for a solid BB on the rise or a more established but middle-market shop.
Well, I think I know the school and possibly the person based on the banks. He could have an offer from all three. However, RBC is the third and the top depends if location is a factor (NYC vs. Charlotte). If you want BB, wells, if you want MM, LMM. Both a good choices.
Go for the BB aka wf. No reason to go for MM if u have a BB unless you really want to do restructuring really badly for some reason. As for location, WF has office in NYC.
The NYC office is mostly ECM. The coverage groups are much smaller deal teams that have the base in NC (industrials, FIG, TMT are the ones I know of). For summer, it's all in NC unless you get into ECM. Full time, it depends, but you will be in NC for the first couple months at the very least for training.
Wildly outdated / incorrect. IBD has floors 60-65 in 30 Hudson Yards, big teams in each. the CEO is in NYC as is the head of global IB. Healthcare, TMT, Industrials, M&A, Consumer & Retail all big presences in NY
Of course it's outdated lmao you're replying to a decade old post...
