Best cities to work in for private banking?

What are the best US cities for starting a career in private banking? I'm a student with a potential offer for private banking with JPM in NYC but the insane cost of living gives me doubts about quality of life and the ability to put money into savings (rather than high rent). I'm someone who likes warm weather, being by the ocean, and mid to big-size cities with fun things to do.

For launching a career in private banking, considering your preferences for warm weather, ocean proximity, and vibrant city life, several U.S. cities align well with your criteria. Based on the context provided, here are some top recommendations:

  1. Miami, Florida - Known for its warm climate and beautiful beaches, Miami also serves as a hub for private banking, particularly for Latin America. The city offers a dynamic cultural scene and a relatively high quality of life.

  2. Los Angeles, California - While the cost of living is high, similar to NYC, Los Angeles offers access to beaches, an extensive entertainment industry, and a robust private banking sector.

  3. Dallas, Texas - Dallas provides a more affordable cost of living compared to NYC and LA, with a growing financial sector. The city has a vibrant cultural scene and although it's not near the ocean, it offers various lifestyle benefits.

  4. San Francisco, California - If you can manage the high cost of living, San Francisco is a major financial hub with proximity to the ocean and a plethora of activities. It's known for its innovative environment and scenic beauty.

  5. Atlanta, Georgia - Offering a lower cost of living compared to NYC, Atlanta has a growing financial sector and provides a warm climate, though it's inland.

Each of these cities has its own unique advantages and challenges, particularly concerning the cost of living and lifestyle. Miami and Los Angeles might be particularly appealing if proximity to the ocean and warm weather are your top priorities.
