Best High School internships for the finance industry

Hi guys, please don’t jump the gun and chuck monkey shit at me for being a “hardo”. All I know is volunteering and interning in your specific field is helpful for college acceptance. Any suggestions are welcome. I’m not quite sure where else to look/ask because it seems that most of these ops are for college students.

Had absolute shit grades coming out of high school (2.2 my sophomore year), but completed an internship at a wealth management firm my senior year. I ended up getting into a solid school compared to my academic credentials, and I'm convinced the internship made all the difference.

If you can find anything finance-related, even if most of the work is still doing back-office work and operations, this will set you up nicely. When you begin interviewing for your first college internship, having had past experience in an office environment in a relevant field can be a big differentiator. It shows them that you're a normal individual and you're less likely to act out. Hope this is helpful

Thanks a lot! This is a good idea, there's a bunch of small wealth management firms around here. There aren't any large programs, though, are there?

There are very few businesses that’d bring on a high schooler for anything more than rudimentary power point and coffee runs.

If you’re down for that, reach out to local firms.

Yeah I've heard that internships make all the difference, they don't just want a scholar for the most part. Thank's for a detailed answer, I'll check this out in my area.

Assuming ur really not a troll - Any branch trainee/counter service/back office position at a retail bank (hopefully a household name like BOA/WF/HSBC) will be a nice eye-grabber.
