Big 4 TAS/Strategy or Middle Market IB?
Let's say one has the following two opportunities out of college:
- Work in the Strategy or FDD group at a Big 4. Things like Transaction Execution, Commercial Due Diligence, Financial Due Dilligence, etc.
- Work as an investment banking analyst at a T2 city in the middle market group of an 'EB.'
I understand that the IB would open opportunities to go to a BB and go buyside, but are there any opportunities that I would miss out on if I didn't choose the Big 4? I'm unsure of the brand name impact and if I would be able to see any other opportunities in the industry as an exit out of the Big 4 group.
