Buyside recruiting in Toronto?

Incoming FT at B5.

Does anyone have insights on buyside recruiting process? Should I already start/am I behind? I'm not sure which funds run on-cycle, but outside of that how do people handle recruiting in toronto? Seems like literally everyone in IB/Buyside knows eachother, and there isn't as much of a on-cycle or "2 years and out" culture as the US.

For context I'm not sure what's right path for me, but want to make sure to not get caught on my heels once work starts
