Call with a senior MD - what to expect

All,

Thanks for taking the time to read the following thread.

Currently an associate at a decent PE fund that I joined after undergrad, I am finally not passionate by the environment and would like to transition to IBD.

I managed to get a call with a senior MD at a top EB, but never did M&A before. What should I expect? I have been very clear in my mail that I would like to join his team, and he told me he was interested by my resume if it matters.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Make your story clear about why IB from PE as the general flow is the other way around.
Make sure you know the industry well if it’s a coverage team and genuinely be excited about recent transactions or happenings within the sector.
Best of luck, rooting for you!
