Can a bachelor in meteorology/atmospheric sciences lead to an investment banking job at a top tier bank in the UK or in the US?

I'm a Belgian high school student who is passionate about meteorology and I, therefore, intend to study meteorology at Reading University (UK) or at Cornell University (US). Nevertheless, I have always had a very keen interest in finance and since I do not think that I want to become a meteorologist, I was wondering if a job in the investment banking sector would be possible with such a degree. I have the understanding that a firm like JP Morgan does not really care about jour degree - as long as you are a good and bright student; on the contrary, diversity is seen is as valuable for the firm.

P.S.: I would like to apologize in advance for possible grammar mistakes.

What do you mean you plan to go to those schools? Have you been accepted yet?

Reading is excellent for climate science but is a complete non target. You’d do far better going to Oxbridge/Imperial/UCL, doing natsci/physics/geoscience, and specialising in a masters if you really want. Some commodity trading firms and hedge firms do employ meteorologists, but it’s generally an MSc minimum to be considered - and from Oxbridge or Imperial at that.
