Can I ever keep this role and move back down south?

Currently a biotech ER associate. I don’t necessarily know where me career is going to end up. I left residency to do this and moved to NYC.

I fucking hate it. Not the job itself, but I don’t really have friends in the city guys. This is the loneliest I’ve ever felt. I miss home where I had all of my family within 2 hours and all my friends from medical school and college near by.

Is it ever possible to do this gig back in the south or be a remote analyst (assuming I make it that far)?

Also how am I supposed to make friends out in ER? I didn’t join a class of analyst.
