[Canadian] Does CS Minor Matter for non-trading roles?
To provide some context:
- Third year at UofT (St George campus if that matters) doing Financial Economics specialist with a minor in STA and CS
- 3.72 cGPA overall (twice dean's list scholar)
- zero internship experience (big yikes, I know) and minimal extra curricular involvement (joined one club for 1 semester and that club became inactive)
I've been debating with myself for a very long time as to whether or not I should keep the CS minor. It requires a lot of time each week and it forces me to take courses like "Introduction to Theory of Computation" which I honestly don't think is gonna help me at all in recruiting or for grad (Master of Finance/Financial Economics/Economics/Risk Mgmt). Additionally, I also need to take other courses and it has been a real struggle to maintain a high GPA. So I'm thinking of dropping the CS minor, but still take courses like intro to ML as electives. However I also saw some posts saying that CS minor helped them in one way or another, but those are mainly focused for the states.
So my question is, does CS minor matter for recruitment in Canada, specifically for non-trading related roles as mentioned in the title? What would you do if you are in my situation?
