Can't get an IB Interview

Hi, I am looking for a job in IB. I went to a non-target and worked in a corporate banking role for roughly two years before moving to a regional PE firm and working there as an analyst for 2 years. The firm decided to terminate their analyst program at the beginning of the year and go back to their original structure of hiring people for VP roles and higher. I have been looking for an IB role but can't even get an interview. I have deal experience, financial modeling experience (LBOs), and basically have been a private equity analyst for 2 years. I just don't know why I can't even get an interview from any IB I apply to, so was hoping for some advice if people had any.

This is correct. A referral lets you cut to the front of the line.

In general, hiring is slow at the moment. New hire classes just started and teams need to understand how much horse power they're dealing with before they start looking for lateral hires.

This is a numbers game, and you can't approach this with too much ego. Take the best offer you can get right now, be top bucket, and then lateral as an associate.

I have been reaching out to people on LinkedIn but haven't gotten responses and the people who have responded usually say they aren't hiring right now or say they'll reach out but then ghost me. Are there any other ways to network with people in the IB world? I really need to land something
