Career Advice for a struggling auditor monkey in BIG 4

Currently 1 year in audit practice (tier 2) pass all 4 sections of CPA, CFA level 2 candidate and was told by my manager that I may be up for an early promotion (June 2018). However, my fiance is moving and I want to be with him. In addition, I been working on a consulting client and the client really like my work and I feel I can bring so much more value in consulting or advisory vs just auditing. So, I am at a point in my career where I just don't know what is the best option for me.

1) Stay in the same company- stay in audit and switch group once transferred there? 2) Stay in the same company - ask for a direct transfer to another group in that location? (FDD, Advisory/...) 3) Leave the company and look for advisory/ FDD/ consulting job.

Side question: any tip on asking informational interview within the company for another group?

Probably best to start applying to other positions outside the company now to get the ball rolling so you have options.

You could also start the process to move internally. Maybe one or the other will work.

How soon is he moving?
