Career Advice: Which career should I pursue?
Hey guys this is my first discussion, so please bear with me.
I just started my bachelor studies and want to figure out which kind of career I want to aim for (at least for now).
My profile: Really interested in things finance, money management, analysis, strategy
I've especially been interested in Value Investing for several years and read the classics of Graham at age 15/16-ish, but I like pretty much anything business related.
However, I do want somewhat of a humane work life balance (no IB) and am not a big fan of travel (consulting unlikely).
1.What would you recommend to someone with my interest profile?
so far I've got AM, Institutional/ Corp Banking, ESG advisory and maybe PE on my list of possible career paths. Although asset management sounds like a pretty perfect fit, I'm not sure whether I should be bearish on the industry.
2.Are these careers too specific -> making it hard to switch careers later on?
I'd be very thankful for any advice as I'm really just starting out and thought I'd take this opportunity to learn from more experienced individuals with different insights. Thanks!
