CB Superday (Lib Arts)

Does anyone know what to expect in a corporate banking superday. I am coming from an alternative background not in finance with no accounting or finance coursework. What should I expect in terms of technicals and stuff like that?

Could be anything. If you want to get into any kind of banking from a liberal arts background the interviewer will likely expect that you have spent some time utilizing outside resources to learn about the functions of commercial banking, accounting, etc.

I would understand the three statements, understand the fundamentals of credit & credit analysis (debt service & coverage ratios, ebidta, fcf, etc).

Maybe focus on some fundamentals—what kind of companies are more creditworthy than others? Think mature companies with stable cash flows vs High growth, younger establishments.

There’s a lot of knowledge out there. Look at the tombstones online if the bank you are interviewing for publishes them. Something like “Company XYZ…$50mm revolving line of credit” and identify the trend in companies that this bank services. Get an idea of what the loan book look like.

You should also be familiar with the various roles; analyst vs credit analyst, relationship manager, etc.

Good luck!
