Cold Calling Banks in Other Cities

Hello, I'm a sophomore out of Philadelphia in the honors college and a 3.95 GPA. I'm looking to get a banking internship at a boutique that I can help to use for my junior year internship, hopefully at an upper MM/BB. My original strategy was to cold call banks in the area, with surprisingly a decent amount of results. No "yes" but a lot of leads. But Philadelphia is not known as a big finance center and my list of banks to call is running low. I was wondering if it would be worthwhile to continue my cold calling search at banks in NY or Chicago (or maybe even someplace like Miami)? Philadelphia's banking scene was very nice & supportive (probably because not a lot of people are calling)...do the people in NY/Chicago or anywhere else have an ego and get calls all the time? where should I plan to apply? Is it normal for smaller banks to help out-of-state interns with housing? my original plan was to just search up "Investment Bank" in the city area on google maps and cold call them all. Is there a better way of doing it?
